A response to the Political Fashion brief set by SHOWstudio. Footage of rebel fighters sits alongside an excerpt from an interview with Irma Specht, a humanitarian worker during the Liberian Civil War. The film focuses on the way that an aspirational culture created by exposure to western media has lured many young women into combat for reasons as simple as a pair of red shoes.
